NEW SURPRISES FOR THIS YEAR’S OKTOBERFEST

Followers of the annual Oktoberfest are in for a surprise this year as the most celebrated beer drinking event in the country is now made bigger in terms of brand offerings, presence and entertainment to Filipino beer lovers.
Market leader San Miguel Brewery Inc. (SMB) has announced that all San Miguel Beer brands will be made available to beer enthusiasts in all Oktoberfest activities.    

“This year, Oktoberfest will be a celebration of everything that brings delight to Filipinos.  This can only mean  more San Miguel Beer parties across the nation and more surprises to be shared and enjoyed with a variety of SMB brands to choose from,” says Charmaine Bautista, San Miguel Beer group brand manager.  

Consumers can now enjoy not just the flagship brand San Miguel Pale Pilsen but also San Miguel Premium All-Malt Beer, San Miguel Super Dry, Cerveza Negra, San Mig Strong Ice, Red Horse Beer, San Mig Light, Gold Eagle Beer during the Oktoberfest season.

In response to the demand of the consumers, the company will also offer  the limited edition San Miguel Oktoberfest Beer which was first introduced in last year’s Oktoberfest. The special pale lager is known for its full flavor, malty notes, sweet taste, smooth finish and lower alcohol content. 

Bautista adds that Oktoberfest is not only for those out in the streets, even those who prefer to stay in the confines of their homes can partake of the much-awaited feast. 

“We recognize now more than ever, consumers seek higher value for their hard-earned money. However, the fun never stops for San Miguel Beer.  If nowadays, consumers prefer to spend more time at home with their family and friends, then we will bring Oktoberfest to them where they can win cash prizes while enjoying their favorite San Miguel Beer,” she explains.
For the first time, Oktoberfest will culminate in the form of a television game show to be aired from Monday to Friday in GMA 7 network for the whole month of October. 

“The San Miguel Beer Barkada Challenge” game show will be hosted by seasoned comedian Michael V. who will spice up the Filipino evening primetime viewing by giving away as much as one million pesos everyday to lucky viewers.  
The show will hit the airwaves starting October 5.

Expected to guest in the program are the hottest San Miguel Beermen players along with San Miguel Beer endorsers Manny Pacquiao, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes,  San Miguel Beermen players, plus many more.
Of course, San Miguel Beer Oktoberfest will not be complete without its trademark San Miguel Beer street parties overflowing with the hottest entertainment. 

Around 30 parties will be thrown to key cities and regions nationwide, starting off on September 4 at Plaza Burgos, Vigan City in Ilocos; and Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Sta. Rosa, Laguna and  on September 5 at Ever Gotesco Commonwealth in Quezon City; and NHA Kauswagan in Cagayan de Oro City, to name a few.

San Miguel Beer patrons may also win from other Oktoberfest activities. San Miguel Beer will be conducting house-to-house raids, bar tours and a crown collection promo nationwide where consumers can also win cool premium collectible items.

“This year’s Oktoberfest will be an Oktoberfest like no other because we aim to bring the biggest and the most anticipated annual beer event right at the footsteps of the Filipino people,” says Bautista, hinting that more Oktoberfest surprises will be revealed soon.
